Job Purpose Summary:

Manage the entire product lifecycle for Video Conferencing products and solutions in Nology’s portfolio.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Training & Support
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop sales tools and collateral.
  • Brief and train the sales team continuously.
  • Assist sales staff with quotations and accompany them to product meetings with customers.
  • Responsible for providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product.
  • Assist marketing with press releases, product write-ups, mailshots, etc.
  • Provide product training to relevant departments and customers.
  • Perform product presentations and demonstrations to customers.
  • Provide pre- and post-sales support to sales staff and customers.
  • Liaise with technical and support departments on product related issues and resolution.
  • Continuously developing and improving product knowledge.
  • Attending training courses and seminars from suppliers and other institutions regularly.


2. Planning & Research:
  • Provide in-depth market, industry and competitive analysis and positioning and identify new opportunities.
  • Anticipate and develop strategies and tactics to meet market and customer needs.
  • Assist with the development of the annual marketing and sales plan.
  • Define and manage the product strategy and go-to-market plans based on customer needs, market trends and business goals.
  • Plan, implement and drive new product launches.
  • Project management for customisation and development of new products and services.
  • Attend relevant industry exhibitions as required and represent Nology at own exhibitions.


3. Pricing & Inventory Management:
  • Preparing product forecasts and recommended stock orders.
  • Constantly monitoring inventory levels to ensure optimum stock availability and supply.
  • Set and manage product pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Create and maintain product codes, stock items, pricelists, licenses (e.g. ICASA).
  • Manage the product lifecycle and aging stock efficiently.


4. Reporting & Documentation:
  • Complete and maintain product documentation (printed and electronic) accurately for each product, e.g. datasheets, website product updates, sales material, etc.
  • Create, implement and maintain processes and policies pertaining to product portfolio.
  • Create and drive new product sheets to completion within the set timeframes.
  • Provide stock, sales and profitability reports as required.


5. Supplier Management:
  • Build and maintain good supplier relations.
  • Manage and negotiate pricing, warranties, support, rebates, incentives and promotions from suppliers.


The above list is not exhaustive and you may be asked to undertake reasonable additional duties/projects requested by the Department Manager/Director.


Education and Qualifications Required:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant tertiary qualification


Experience Required:

  • 5 Years’ experience in Unified Communications and Video Conferencing
  • Experience in VoIP and Networking an advantage
  • Experience in the IT distribution channel
  • Sales experience an advantage
