Job Summary:

The internal sales person acts as the first point of contact with the customer, portraying a professionalism and confidence that delivers the ultimate in customer service; to build and maintain customer relationships and support the account managers.

Key Duties:

  • Effectively and timeously deal with telephone and email requests for quotations
  • Ensure all quotations are followed up as and when necessary
  • Process all orders timeously and accurately
  • Liaise between warehouse/logistics and customers to pro-actively and efficiently keep customers informed and updated on their orders
  • Timeous and ongoing follow-up on all open sales orders until completion
  • Facilitate and oversee the credit note process
  • Determine and communicate customer back orders for items included on incoming orders/shipments
  • Timeously process and send out monthly recurring invoices for applicable services and/or customers
  • Have a solid and foundational understanding and knowledge of the products in order to confidently advise and assist customers
  • Ensure that the sales order library is complete and up to date
  • Support the account managers and ensure that the account managers are kept informed of any developments relevant to their accounts
  • Contact and build relationships with new customers
  • Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and new customers
  • Maximise sales by continually up selling and promoting promotions on all sales calls and emails
  • Achieve team and individual sales targets as set by the management team within the agreed time frames

Education and Qualifications Required:

  • Grade 12
  • Sales qualification - advantageous


Experience Required:

  • 3+ Years’ experience in tele-sales and sales administration (inbound and outbound calls)
  • Experience in IT /Networking /Internet Industry
